For sending your reports to the STM at the end of the month, this is a typical radiogram. However, it is NOT set in concrete, just so long as all the info is there. You can also send your reports via internet email, but it doesn't count as traffic for your totals.
SAR stands for Station Activity Report. It refers to message-handling activity.
Here are the categories:
Originated, O (on behalf of a 3rd party, not yourself) - 1 point each
Received, R ( from another ham station via ham radio) - 1 point each
Sent, S (to another ham stations via ham radio) - 1 point each
Delivered, D (to a 3rd party, not yourself) - 1 point each.Origination and Delivery are usually done off the air, like when you deliver a message on the phone, and maybe the person wants to send a reply back. You could also Originate or Deliver via the Internet, and it DOES count.
Conversely, Sent and Received MUST be done on the ham bands. Using the Internet doesn't count.
You don’t need to include the year in the text, as we assume your report is for the current year! Some people spell out the words in the SAR instead of using the short format, ie. "originated 2", instead of O/2 and that's fine too. The T stands for Total.
PSHR is the Public Service Honor Roll. It includes the SAR and more. There are six categories for accumulating points, as follows:
1 - checking into any ham public service net, 1 point each, Max of 40 per month - includes ANY public service net, such as Traffic, ARES, or SKYWARN if held on the ham bands. So MARS does not count.
2 - messages handled - 1 point each (same as SAR, but Max of 40)
3 - holding an ARRL field appointment - 10 points each, Max of 30
4 - participating in a public service event - 5 points per hour or fraction, no limit (includes things like walk-a-thons, etc.)
5 - participating in a REAL emergency activity - 5 points per hour or fraction, no limit. (example, hurricane alert, toxic spill, etc.
6 - running a public service BBS or web site - 10 points each, Max 30
In the PSHR radiogram, you only need to include the categories that have non-zero numbers. You can even omit the "X 73". The shorter the better!!
If you achieve 70 PSHR points for 12 consecutive months, or 18 out of 24 months, you can get a nice certificate from the League.
